5 cute no-brainer skirts outfits for Spring

Hello guys! How's life?
I honestly can't believe how nice the weather has been lately! Unbelievable! I am so grateful for all the sunshine and the warm temperatures even if I am stuck at home and I can't fully enjoy it outside. It really makes a huge difference in my mood. Bonus: I also achieved quite a decent tan already. For being only April, is a massive thing here in London, where usually instead of sun bathe sessions on the roof at lunch time we'd just get showers of rain while nipping out of work to buy some food.
I then decided it was high time for a wardrobe change over. I won't post it though. I literally did that a couple of days ago, precisely around 9, in the middle of our Netflix movie night.
It was basically too hot with the heavy winter duvet I kept on the bed because you know, just in case, it won't last... but I couldn't help myself. I was literally sweating.
Paused the film, I lifted the mattress + the bed slats and I began to dig into the suitcases full of summery stuff that I keep under the bed. While rummaging with the excuse of only searching for my super lightweight spring duvet,(and I remembered exactly in which suitcase it was) I was excited like a child on Christmas morning opening presents: "oh, wait! That's my favourite skirt! I need it!" and "uuuu, my cotton cardigan, I want to wear it tomorrow!"
I basically started to take out all my summery items, piling them on the floor, my poor boyfriend half asleep on his computer chair holding the winter duvet, secretly hating me for not being able to wait until the next morning. But he knows better: no interrupting while I am possessed by the sacred demon of tidying. He is not allowed to help with these things which I am very territorial about( also he doesn't have the faintest idea on how to do it).
I must admit it was not the right time for that but I am also very chuffed with my performance: an hour and a half after everything summery was out and tidy in the wardrobe and the exclusively winter stuff (I only kept a couple of my lighter cashmere jumpers/cardigans in case of a drop in temperature) was neatly folded in the suitcases and back under the bed. Smashing it!
For those who might be interested to know: I found the spring duvet and we finished the movie in the end. He also received a massive amount of cuddles for being so patient with the crazy person I am.
The following morning, I put together a few cute outfits for spring with skirts, which is the item that I was craving the most. As the majority of people, I tend to wear trousers and jeans more in the colder months so I was thrilled to have an alternative.
I also feel that skirts are the spring item for excellence as they are more easily layered compared to dresses. If it's a bit nippy, I'd just put on a pair of tights and throw on a cardigan and either a trench coat or a leather jacket. Easy peasy.
The items I am wearing here are more or less all "old", meaning not in stores anymore, which is fine because I don't see the point in shopping tons of items every season. If you find my looks inspiring you can recreate them with what you have got already in your wardrobe but if you lack some key pieces, I have linked some similar options from this season.
I like to keep my outfits simple and practical, that's way I didn't add many accessories: my spring bags, gold pleated jewellery + a light make up (lipstick on at all times!) are more than enough for me.
-First outfit ingredients:
Take your boyfriend oxford shirt, a denim bottom up miniskirt and pair it with a basket bag and trainers. Winning combo: the oxford shirt is currently at its popularity peak and we understand why. It looks sleek and chic at all times, with everything.
It is also a great alternative if the trend denim top + denim bottom juxtaposition is not your cup of tea.
Nothing says "spring" more than a cute basket bag. Mine is from a charity shop (one of my best find!) but here I will link other alternative available in online stores now.

Have you been affected by the polka dots fever? Great, me too. This one is from LY but now there are plenty of options online.
I just want the skirt to be at the centre of the stage, so I won't add any contrast. A black organic cotton t-shirt + black bucket bag and again white trainer is my favourite way of styling it.
For the braves out there, a fun idea to have a quirky look would be to swap the black top for a black and white stripy t-shirt!
Abi black bucket bag: Oliver Bonas

Midi polka dots skirts with side slit: River Island for Asos
Satin polka dots slip midi skirt: Boohoo
Green is on trend this season and I have always been a big fan of it.
I opted for a button through utility skirt in a military shade simply paired with a organic cotton white T. It is definitely worth spending a few more quids investing in good quality fabrics. They will wash much better and they will last for ages while looking always brand new. And what about the amazing comfort and feeling of the skin? Unbeatable!
Accessories: again my basket bag with a cool vintage silk scarf as a bow. No brainer styling tip I got from my mum for when you just want to add an extra touch to your super basic look.
White organic t-shirt: Organic basics
Paperbag utility skirt: Banana Republic
Watch me bloom gold pleated necklace: Oliver Bonas
Botanical 'A' silk scarf: Aspinal of London

My winter black satin skirt didn't go back in the suitcases: I wore it a lot during autumn/winter but I wasn't ready to pack it just yet. It looks fresh with a white t-shirt and some animal prints, "tone sur tone" details. The mini zebra bag I am wearing here is handmade and I bought it in Italy a few years ago but I saw some similar ones in a stall in Old Spitalfields Market recently.
What I love about this look is that is suitable for every occasion: for work as well as for an drink after and/or the weekend. Whilst stuck at home, this could be an appropriate conference call outfit, maybe with the addition of a pastel blazer on.
While mini skirts can be more challenging, especially in more conservative work environments, midi skirts are amazing for this time of the year and I got a lot of wear out of them in all seasons.

Romantic vibes with this look, I took inspiration for the French women's look in the country side. The flowery skirt with slit is a must have for Spring and the cable cardigan with a belt to cinch in your waist is the best practical cover up. Add a trench on in case of a rainy day and it could be a great weekend outfit. I love the combination with the small basket bag again and the tan brogues that match the colour of the belt.
