April most loved

Ciao a tutti, hello everyone!

Here we are again...For those who are new: I like to review all my personal favourites of the month, selecting only the best ones!

I decided at the beginning of the month to have a shopping break for clothing as I was determined to use what I own already a bit more so this time I will add my styling tip to look decent in quarantine even without make up and only wearing loungewear.

-Tv series:

Chernobyl from HBO

A mini series that I highly recommend everyone to watch for many reasons. It is incredibly well made and the historical accuracy to details (even if there are some fictional elements of course) is very loyal to what happened in the reality not long ago. The entire cast performance was brilliant and it wasn't heavy to follow at all, it really kept me glued to the screen without a yawn despite the complicated topic full of technical terms. I am aware it is not the lightest entertainment especially during the current situation but I believe it is totally worth it. It is relevant now more than ever, when the ignorance of the reckless modern rulers could bring innocent people to suffer and die. It is a lesson for us all to learn and hopefully avoid history to repeat itself and I think it should be watched in schools. It is now in my top 3 favourites!

-Lifestyle:

LSW cards

LSW Mind Cards are a pack of 45 individually designed cards each with a tool or task to help you increase your wellbeing, boost your mood and help you move towards a more fulfilled life.

By introducing positive habits into your everyday, Mind Cards will give you the power to create the healthiest and happiest life for you. It would also be a wonderful gift for our loved ones.

How to use:

Each day select a card at random and take the action stated on the card. Building the habit of making positive choices each day will help you lead a more fulfilling and happier life.

My favourite one is Kindness as sometimes in our busy world is one of the first things that we forget to practice. During this critical moment it is important to reflect first on how to improve it and then act on a practical level regularly. It doesn't cost anything but bring a smile to others and peace for us.

-Beauty:

Coco and Eve hair mask

The famous hair mask, everywhere on Instagram and social media. I had to try it! Well, the main reason is that my hair are now quite long and I can see some damages already so since I can't go to the hairdresser and I can't chop them off on my own than the only solution is to invest in a good hair mask. I have to admit I was sceptical especially because of the price but it won me over in an instant: the smell is amazing and by far the best I have ever tried in hair products. I used it only 2 times in April but I really liked the texture of it while applying it with the specific comb (which by the way it is great on its own to brush my hair without breaking them). I couldn't feel a huge difference right after washing my hair, but while I was drying them I could definitely feel how soft and light they were. Big thumbs up from me!

-Book:

P.S from Paris by Marc Levy

A light read before bed as during quarantine I experienced a bit of anxiety in the evening and weird, super realistic dreams while sleeping. Reading always help. I am reading from my Ipad and this Ebook was very cheap (around a pound in the discounted section) but the main reason I chose this one is that me and my boyfriend were supposed to spend the Easter bank holiday weekend in Paris and I wanted something about it anyway even if I couldn't enjoy the city it in real life. It is modern-day love story between a famous actress hiding in Paris and a bestselling writer lying to himself. They knew their friendship was going to be complicated, but love and the City of Lights just might find a way. I know it sounds cheesy but I am not afraid to say that I love romantic novels.

I usually won't read translated books but my Kindle reader had some issues with the French version and I decided to read it in English.

-Songs:

I couldn't choose only one because I am literally listening to them every single day!

In your eyes - The weekend.

He is one of my favourite singer at the moment, his voice has something of Bruno Mars and Michel Jackson together and also a bit of Justin Timberlake. After "blinding lights" this the perfect follow up and I love 90s rhythm and the sexy sax.

Roses - Imanbek Remix

I hated it when I first hear it on Spotify. Then it grow on me and now I am obsessed. Perfect hit for working out!

-Home:

Le Creuset cast iron grill pan

During the past few days of hot weather I wish I had a garden not only to enjoy the sun but also to grill! I found a solution for both: I am sun bathing on the roof and grilling on the stove with this amazing cast iron pan. No smoke, no fuss! The meat and the vegetables were delicious and very similar to an actual grill. Mine is older and currently sold out but I found this slightly smaller alternative below. I like it so much I want to buy a bigger rectangular version that takes two hobs.

-Styling tip:

If you don't feel like dressing up or wearing make up during confinement, I totally get it. I have those days most of the time. I find the strength to put something decent on every now and then just to shoot for the blog and to nip out to shop.

But I have a trick to lift my mood and my home attire when I am only wearing loungewear: jewellery. It sounds crazy but I feel instantly better and it elevate a bit more my look so it doesn't feel sloppy even if I am only wearing my boyfriend hoodie and a pair of simple sweat shorts.

My current jewellery must have:

A gold ear cuff and cute everyday necklace (mine is sold out but this one below is on my wish list).

A simple pair of golden hoops (more comfortable than studs) and a cool statement ring

-Easter:

I really don't like creme eggs, I hate the fondant inside. I know, I don't deserve to live. Instead, I treated myself with a very nice Kitkat egg! Real yummy! Chocolate is a must have in my pantry all year round as I love to have it with my after lunch coffee. Now it is the sweet little pleasure that help me crack on with my day even when I am not in the mood for anything. I would rather sacrifice any other food, including pasta, but I'd never give up on chocolate. Coffee and chocolate is what I am made of. Dark chocolate is my favourite as it goes perfectly with coffee, milk chocolate when I am sad and I have got my period but I don't like white chocolate at all.

-Flowers:

Tulips were the mood lifter I needed and they are one of my favourite flowers in general.

I have got several plants in my small flat and I my boyfriend is so kind to treat myself with flowers every now and then when. Their power in improving the quality of your life is proven as they create a positive energy and help to feel secure and relaxed so I recommend everyone to have some in your work space at home to increase productivity.
