March favourites

Ciao, welcome back to my blog!

This month has been a well weird one for everybody, I reckon.

Despite the current situation, I am going to share with you my March favourites anyways to cheer us up a little bit: what I have been doing, the places I visited when we still could get out, what I bought and what made my life a bit more bearable during my first week of lockdown.

Let's hope for the best for the next one but for the time being, stay safe at home.

-Half cup cafe

(Address: 100-102 Judd St, Saint Pancras, London WC1H 9NT)

Independent cafe with pendant lights and murals, for gourmet coffees, breakfasts and light meals (no need to book in advance but it is always full of people).

The place is cute and easy to find as it is not far from S.Pancras station. Friendly and super efficient staff and one of the best brunch menus I have ever seen in London. Definitely recommended after the lockdown!

This is the picture of the best Oreo french toast EVER! I appreciated that the portion sizes are more than generous and the prices are very reasonable for the amazing quality they serve. If you prefer savoury, there are plenty of choices for you as well, no worries!

You can tell the spring is finally coming when you can find small bunches of daffodils at the supermarket. I adore them: they are beautiful in their simplicity, they add a pop of colour to the flat and they are inexpensive (only 1£!)

Among all the spring flowers, daffodils really lift my mood and this year I took a picture of them every day until complete bloom.

-Oliver Bonas Emilia khaki camera bag

I am obsessed with my new camera bag: it is practical, compact, easy to wear, stylish, you name it, it has it all. A must-have for every season.

The colour is amazing and I found it very easy to go with the rest of my wardrobe as khaki is very close to a neutral colour. If green doesn't fly your boat, it is available in brighter colours too (the bold orange was actually super tempting!)

The price is also very good but it is not real leather, although it feels like it and it is very well made. It is possible to sanitise it with a Dettol wipe which makes my life so much easier.

-Peter Thomas Roth water drench moisturiser

Since we are going towards spring I thought it was time to swap my current very rich winter cream for a lighter one. This one won me over as it has everything I need: hyaluronic acid.

I have been using it for about 10 days now and I am in love with it. Lightweight but incredibly hydrating. My skin is super soft and I don't feel dry or tight in my weak spots (cheeks and nose) during the day at all. It is suitable for all skin types and it is currently available on my favourite beauty website for 36 quids instead of 45 (20% off).

-Love is blind on Netflix

I have been self-isolating since the 21st of March as my store has temporarily closed so I had plenty of time for Netflix. I am not a huge fan of this kind of shows but I have to admit I was extremely curious about it.

I ended up binge-watching it, like 3 episodes in a row. In a week it was over. I liked it because it is something that reveals a lot about human nature! If you like me need some frivolous evasion from the news and what is going on at the moment in the world, I would give it a go.

-Ozone cafe's pizza

My boyfriend and I decided to have a nice lunch out at the beginning of the month and he chose this place as it was recommended by his colleagues. I was a bit suspicious about it since I rarely like the pizza here in London but I was actually pleasantly surprised.

It is not like Italian pizza but is super yummy! I really appreciated the creativity with the ingredients and the fact that the dough was lightweight and not too salty (usually it is rich in salt when it didn't have the time to activate the yeasts properly and it would be extremely difficult to digest).

I had mine with a unique combination of mozzarella, Jerusalem artichokes, rocket and courgettes and it was delicious. My boyfriend chose a more classic one with tomato sauce and spicy chorizo, which was also very nice.

The place is casual, suitable for friends and families. Not the right place if you want to have a romantic date as it is quite loud and the tables are very long to fit as many people as possible. The staff is also lovely and incredibly quick (we received our pizza in 15 minutes despite all the tables being full).

-Fit on app

I was running low on new workouts (Youtube and Pinterest were my only source of inspiration so far) and I found this app while scrolling down my Instagram. I immediately downloaded it and I couldn't be happier with it!

You can set your goal and how long you would like to work out for. The range of exercises is huge! They will select some specific ones for you but you can freely browse for more. You can choose yoga, stretching, HIIT, pilates, barre dance, whatever your heart and body desire is there for you. The best part: the app is free!!!

I have been training with it for almost 3 weeks now and I can already see results. I definitely lost some weight and I am more toned. The winning factor is that the workouts are tailored for you, the instructors are extremely professional and you can choose the level of intensity.

No excuses from now on!

-Oliver Bonas glass bottle

I often forget to drink when I am busy and as a result, my skin suffers dehydration. I don't like tap water but I don't want to buy plastic bottles so I am now filtering water and I am drinking from this cute glass bottle. It is 580 ml, which is ideal: I am trying to drink one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

In the meantime, I always have a teapot of herbal tea in the morning and one in the afternoon and thanks to this method I am reaching almost 2 litres of water a day.

-Dragonfly green tea

I am a huge fan of green tea in general: I started drinking it every day around this time last year when I realised that I was having way too many coffees.

This new one I recently bought is amazing. It is organic and it has a mint flavour which is perfect for those who found green tea too bitter.

-Old movies on Netflix

I am a hopeless romantic, nostalgic person: now and then I need to go back in time and re-watch my favourite movies from the 80s/90s.

This month I wanted to feel the thrill of Patrick Swayze's ones. I was excited like a little girl and glued to it even if I think I saw them a hundred times. Spaghetti arms loved it ( and my boyfriend liked them too).

-SZA, Justin Timberlake "The other side"

My go-to song to lift my mood during the quarantine. I was listening to it while I was cleaning the kitchen for the 4th time and I ended up dancing. Maybe the vibe is similar to "can't stop the feeling' but honestly....who cares?
