Sunday pastry squares

Ciao belli! How are you today?

Who is the mood for a sweet treat? That's the right recipe for you if you would like something low calories!


Difficulty level: super easy


Ingredients


- One rectangular sheet of puff pastry

- 1 red gala or British organic apple

- A few raspberries or blueberries to decorate

- 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder

- 1 teaspoon of sugar or acacia honey


A slow Sunday breakfast treat: it just takes about 30-40 minutes but it’s definitely worth it especially in the autumn when it starts to be nippy outside and all you need it’s the warm and sweet scent of baked apples that fills the air.


-First, warm the oven up to 180 degrees.


-Roll your pastry over a tray and cut it in horizontally in a half and then vertically into 3 or 4 squares. You should obtain from 6 to 8 squares in total, and it actually depends how big you want them to be.


-Wash the apple, cut it into thin slices and place a couple of them on the pastry squares. Add a raspberry on top, and then sprinkle with sugar/honey and cinnamon.


-It’s time to pop them in the oven on the middle section grill.


-After 15 minutes the pastry will rise a bit and should be golden and crunchy. You can now remove them from the oven and let them cool down while you are brewing some tea or if you are a coffee lover like me, make a good cappuccino.


-Another yummy version of it is with your favourite jam on top instead of the apples.

Quick but absolutely delicious.
